My Scale is Emotionally Abusive!!!

The following has been copied from the University of Illinois Counseling Center web site:
"Emotional abuse...systematically wears away at the victim’s self-confidence, sense of self-worth, trust in their own perceptions, and self-concept. "
When applied to your ordinary, every day bathroom scale, it cannot be more true.
The other night, I noticed my booty was looking good. Then today, I woke up and my tummy felt smaller.
Then I stepped on the scale, hoping, praying for a little validation and what did I get? ABUSE!!!
Of the 3 categories explained in the article, I have decided my scale is a classic, textbook case of Denying Emotional Abuse.
Invalidating seeks to distort or undermine the recipient’s perceptions of their world. Invalidating occurs when the abuser refuses or fails to acknowledge reality...."
