so frustrated...aaarrgh

Thursday, August 02, 2012

I know it's just one day...but how can I track everything - be at 1400 calories for the day, done more than an hour and a half of cardio (sweaty, breathing hard cardio) and be up one more pound this morning? I can hear you all now...it's water, it's a random fluctuation and why are you weighing yourself every day, girl?
I get it.
But I want to see that number move in the other direction - just once.
OK, so new goal. No scale reading until next Thursday morning. There. It's out in the universe. No cheating on myself. I will stay the course (saying this to my inner Pirate Chica Ninja now) when it comes to the food and the exercise and I will NOT, repeat NOT, weigh myself until a week from today. Enough!
Sorry for the rant, spark peeps.

I like the idea of having hubby hide your scale - that's awesome!! You can do it, babe, I know you can. You reek of determination!!

Also - Pirate Chica Ninja is the best ever. I love this so hard!!

I always ask my husband to hide our scale from me when I start to get real obsessed. Sounds silly, but it works!

You are doing great work. The scale doesn't get the last say in whether or not you're healthy.

What are some measurable non-scale goals for the week? Better running time? Number of veggie servings? Tape measure? An item of clothing to try on?

It happens. I had weight loss surgery, I am unable to eat more than a couple tablespoons at a time. My usual daily food log is similar to this...... 1/2 container of s/f pudding (yes the small one, 1/2 a banana, 1/2 cup of beef broth, 1/2 serving of s/f jello, 2 strawberries, 1/2 cup yogurt. After several weeks of this, guess what? I GAINED 2 pounds...WTH? I read an article that says when we plateau, we are converting fat to a soluable fat that can be burned, during this time we GAIN, simply because the burnable fat is water soluable. Don't get frustrated, keep chugging along.
