Hey! Hey! Hey!
I recently read and enjoyed my good, buddy ole pal SHRINK_U's blog about fruits and vegetables and mmmm, SMOOTHIES!
If you want to take a gander at the sheer awesomeness of my favorite Shrinky Dinks blog... here is the link...
I must admit, I like smoothies but most times, I'm too lazy to make them. That means I have to haul my blender out of the cupboard! lol... yeah, yeah, I know, it's not THAT hard... okay, anyways, I have never made a smoothie with veggies. Don't get me wrong I LOVE veggies but to me adding vegetables to what (in my mind) is a fruit slurry seems unnatural.
But I told my dear friend that I would start out by giving carrots in my smoothie a shot. I do not like raw carrots the flavor just doesn't sit well on my taste buds, however I really like steamed carrots. So this morning, I got off my butt and lugged that ole trusty blender out of the cupboard and made a smoothie for myself and my kids. I added 2 HUGE steamed carrots, 3 cups unsweetened frozen strawberries, a medium sized almost too ripe banana, 2 6 oz. containers of greek yogurt (vanilla flavored) and 1/2 a cup of milk. Whirled it all together, poured them into glasses and served.
Both of my boys wrinkled their noses when they asked if I added "those carrots" to the smoothie. Saying "those carrots" like they were a bad word or something. lol... Must seem a little unnatural to them too... see another example on how you influence your kids! Anyways, I told them "darned tootin those carrots were in there" and took a huge gulp. It was YUM! They decided that since I didn't fall over dead from "those carrots", they would give it a try and the things were gone in minutes flat. Ha! Carrots in a smoothie aren't bad after all! Who knew?!? Shrinky Dink did!
So needless to say... Carrots will be making a regular appearance in our smoothies and I forecast not a single objection from now on. Yay smoothies!
Also, today is the celebration of day 43 of 100 straight days of exercise! Yup, still going! I admit I've been slacking for the last few days and only doing 10-20 minutes but today? I did 52 minutes and it's not even noon yet. I just may do more after I finish some household chores! It's sorta funny how fast you forget how good it feels to exercise after a few days. I wanted to quit at 10 minutes because I was having some abdominal cramps but I pushed through them and they went away!
I love that!
This saying has some serious truth to it...
If I had listened to my brain saying "you should stop", I wouldn't be feeling as good as I am feeling right now.... Anyways, enough preaching about how great it feels to keep going, I'm sure you know... And onto sharing those TUNES!!!
As always, I like to share the songs I danced to that day and so here they are...

Above, it says, in case it's too small...
"This is your life. Do what you love, and do it often. If you don't like something, change it. If you don't like your job, quit. If you don't have enough time, stop watching tv. If you are looking for the love of your life, stop; they will be waiting for you when you start doing things you love. Stop over analyzing, all emotions are beautiful. When you eat, appreciate every last bite. Life is simple. Open your mind, arms, and heart to new things and people, we are united in our differences. Ask the next person you see what their passion is, and share your inspiring dream with them. Travel often; getting lost will help you find yourself. Some opportunities only come once, seize them. Life is about the people you meet, and the things you create with them so go out and start creating. Life is short. Live your dream and share your passion."
