2012 Update

It has been such a long time since I last posted a blog and I guess it's because I haven't had anything to contribute. Or anything I wanted to share! Mainly since while I still regularly checked Spark, read your blogs, and tracked, my efforts regarding my weight were half-assed. In the last half of 2011, I gained about 10 pounds. Nothing horrible, but above my maintenance range that I had stayed in for about 18 months. By the end of 2011, I was getting close to 160 pounds and I did not want to go there again. I knew I was on a slippery slope and I needed to make some changes!
I started out 2012 re-motivated, but it didn't last long. I managed not to gain any weight, but nothing was happening with regards to weight loss. In March 2012, I invested in Fit Bits for both me and hubby. These are great little devices that keep me motivated throughout the day- not just during workouts. That got me re-energized- for a little bit. Work became busier and I let that be an excuse for working through lunch and missing my gym work-outs. But July is here, and I am back at it!
I originally lost 60 pounds. While I had put 10 of them back on, I have to continually remind myself that I have successfully lost weight in the past. Not only do I know how to do it, but I can! I've had some ups and downs in my weight in 2012, but from March 9 to today, I have lost 7.2 pounds. I do have to remind myself that I lose weight more slowly at this weight than I did when I originally started over 200 pounds. I am still out of my maintenance range, but I feel that it is once again within reach!
I've been getting my cardio and strength training AND making sure I stay within my nutritional ranges and that is what has made the difference! I know I can, I know I can!
