Chia seeds, quinoa, lentils and 20 days to go
Friday, June 29, 2012
Yay! Thanks to that wonderful site Amazon I now can add chia seeds to my morning overnight oats. I LOVE my new breakfast. With about 20g of protein it's giving me more energy in the morning. My protein powder is cocoa flavour so it's like having dessert for breakfast!
I also got a bag of quinoa and lentils. The price is pretty crazy compared to what you'd pay back in my home country but that's expat life for you. I made quinoa salad last night and it was SOO good. No way that 200g bag (at about $5 US!!) is going to last long. I have to find a cheaper source.
Tonight I am making roasted spicy veggies on top of lentils. I will probably roast some chicken for husband because while his request whenever I ask what he wants for dinner is 'vegetables!', I'm not sure he is wanting to go full on vegetarian ;) Plus he needs all the protein he can get.
20 days? Until a 3 day conference I have in Tokyo. Vainly, I want to look my best in my semi fancy clothes. I know a whole 4 people out of the 2-3 thousand that will be there so I guess I feel a little extra pressure to... impress. Or something. Anyway, it's a goal. I'm trying to do ST one day and cardio the next. I actually been on track to lose a nice chunk before a presentation I have to give next Tuesday (in Japanese - eeek) but it seems a girls day out + PMS has made the scales jump up a bit. For once I am hoping mother nature comes early so I can lose some of this water weight!!
Thanks to all you lovely people for your comments on my previous blogs. I'm so sorry I have been in contact or commenting on your blogs. Hope you're all enjoying summer!
