My First Non-Scale Victory

Wednesday, June 13, 2012

First of all, I want to give a shout out to my SparkFriend " Jerz Gurl Nan" one of the most motivating people I've ever met whowith her recent blog inspired me to start looking at my non-scale victories. I have one to talk about today.

I work in Social Services, helping families out of homelessness and towards self-sufficiency. It's a low paying job, with aggravating clients but sometimes rewarding when clients do well for themselves. One particular client has never been compliant but she filed a complaint against me which is being addressed by my supervisor today. Along with that, today is also Peer review, where we look at each other's files for compliance, blah blah.

Knowing that I would have a super busy, super stressful day. I armed myself with the best weapon possible, a clear head. How did i accomplish that? I got up at 5am and made it to the gym for a 5:45 am Spin class. New teacher, different kind of ride and I've been pumped all day!

I feel good, i worked out, I put on a dress that was a little snug a month ago so i know progress has been made (much better fit). I've had the best attitude all day.

I've been smiling all day long! It's been a good day.

Hope you're all having a good one too.

I LOVE YOU - You put such a teary smile on my face because I KNOW that amazing feeling - not just the fact that you conquered the morning battle of workout/don't workout - you walked with joy in a comfortable fitted dress and felt amazing BUT - the real Victory is that you Confidently faced your dragons and "Sailed" through what is too often a "Thankless Day". I have many friends in your profession - it has challenges the rest of us cannot begin to imagine. You are a Special 'servant'.

I just want to HUG you right now. Hope you can feel it.

thank you too for your kind words of encouragement - not necessary but appreciated. It is good to know that we sometimes lend a hand.
