What have I been up to? Hmmm

I haven't had much time to blog or be on spark. It just seems there are not enough hours in the day to do all the things that need to be done!

This morning I opted to go into my office late so I can get my laundry folded, put away and clean my bed room because MY bedroom is the LAST thing that gets done which means it doesn't get done. lol!
My day is like this. I get up at 5:15, get my LiveFit work out in, come home, get kids up and ready, me ready, drop kids off, work, take care of the horse/ride, pick up kids, make dinner, clean house, do laundry, TRY to find time to run, go to bed... I am wore out and I feel like I need to borrow time from other things to get caught up.
Marathon training is not working for me this go round. I can't seem to find the time, or motivation to get going! Last week I ran twice, both my 30 minute maintenance runs. I was too tired to shoot for a long run Saturday morning and after I got up I had to go ride a prospect horse for a friend. That was fun! I really don't have a fear of new horses so I am often asked to go try one out. This one is an 18hr old thoroughbred who has arthritis in his hind knee. I really had no issue with this one but he surprised me. I throw the saddle on, start to cinch up the girth and that horse came alive!! He bucked and reared and ran backwards, reared some more and then took off. I let him calm down then cinched the girth and there we went again. I finally got him calm and cinched and mounted up. He rides great! Nice slow trot and an amazingly smooth lope. I didn't ride too long because of his knee but it was enough for my friend to know this wasn't the horse for her.
Sunday was a hard day for me personally and emotionally. It seems as if my running and racing has left my husband feeling neglected. I feel terrible about this! I just wish he had voiced his opinion 2.5 years ago instead of growing resentment. I reduced my fall race schedule to just 4 races. Two fulls and two halfs. They are all local except for one which is a family trip for the Marine Corps Marathon. That made him happy, which makes me happy!

This week has gone pretty well, except for my running. I completed day 52 of the LiveFit and feel great! I just wish I could see better results already. I was down 5lbs and got back into 1 pair of size 6's and my 8's were getting loose to the point I could pull them off without unbuttoning them but this week I am back up to 160 and my clothes feel tight. I am trying to hydrate properly but that is always such a challenge for me.
This plan suggests that I be at my goal weight by September. I am starting to think that isn't going to happen. I am wondering of I will ever reach my goal weight at all! I know, I know...stay positive. I am working on that too :)

Anyway, I have to take the ginger back to the ortho for a recheck of his elbow fracture.

    And just so you know, Joey and I have both been trying to be a little more mindful of the time we spend on the phones/computers in the evenings.... Think we both have realized we can get carried away and forget whats really important.

    Yeah, I hear you on not enough hours in the day. I also get up at 5:15 to get everything done and I'm rarely home before 9pm. I'm just flat out sleep deprived.

    Glad you worked things out w/ your hubby. I know Larry often feels the same way - he said once that he comes AFTER running, work and the cats. In that order! hehe!

    I can completely sympathize with you on so many levels! For me, I really love running, but find myself getting caught up in other people's goals. As you know, having children and a husband who works excessively reduces the amount of time you have to do the things for 'you!' I'm proud of you for getting your LiveFit in and know you're doing a great job!
    Proper marathon training really takes a lot of time...especially family time. I have never been one to sign up for a marathon because I want to enjoy the experience, take pictures or reach a certain 'title.' I did one, training properly, and now I'm done. I can think of 100 different things to do with 4-5 hours of my time (not including training) with my family, so that's where my priorities are!

    I'm sure DH just wanted you to be happy, but remember, that time you're spending is taking away from him...and they don't like to feel neglected, either. It's definitely challenging, but I know you will find the right balance!!

    Hang in there with your fitness and nutrition and one of these days its going to click. You are doing the right thing and just don't give up!!!

    So Happy for you that you and Mike talked about racing. You are going to have lots of fun reducing race and concentrating on strength and training right for those 4 races.

    I am sorry you are so busy you can barely breathe. Focus on the most important things...let others slack
