Operation Wedding- 2.5 months to go!

Wednesday, June 06, 2012

May has been a great month! I know I said that about March and April too, but I really feel like May has been the best month yet! emoticon

emoticon First of all, my trip to Israel was a lot of fun! I got to meet my new baby niece, Noam, and she is so cute! She's only 3 months old but she's such a beautiful baby and so calm and happy. I had so much fun spending time with her! And here's a picture of us so that you can see for yourself how gorgeous she is emoticon

Of course it was also great to see all my friends and the rest of my family! It's hard being away from my family and friends and I'm really lucky that I get to see them as often as I do. I also spent some time looking for a venue to have my wedding there (we're having two wedding, one in Texas and one in Israel so that all of our friends and family will be able to celebrate with us). The official wedding is going to be here in Texas, but we'll still have some sort of celebration there. My mom is going to be the one doing most of the planning for the wedding there so it'll be a little less stressful for me!

I'm really proud of myself for sticking to my program while in Israel. I brought my Insanity DVDs with me and every morning I would rearrange the living room and workout. Whatever my plans were for the day, I made sure I got my workout in. And eating healthy was easy because my mom had just joined Weight Watchers so she was eating healthy and more importantly, cooking healthy (she's always been really supportive of my weight loss efforts and is an expert in making yummy, healthy food)! Even when I went out I made healthy choices and avoided temptations. So how did it all pay off?

emoticon Well the scale in Israel is in kilograms and I think it tends to be about 1kg (2.2 lbs) lower than my scale at home (it also rounds to the nearest 0.5 kg which is about 1lb so that's a lot in lbs). But according to that scale I had lost 2.5 kgs in 3 weeks (which is about 5.5 lbs)! Yay me! Of course now that I'm home my scale isn't being as nice... I currently weigh 151.6 (even though according to my scale in Israel I weighed 147.7 when I left). So I don't know what that's about but honestly, I'm not too worried about the number on the scale, because.......

emoticon I finally fit into my wedding dress!! Woohoo!!! I tried it on before I left for Israel and it still didn't zip all the way up. The first thing I did when I came back was try on my dress (since my pants were all too big I figured there was a good chance my dress would fit) and it zipped up! It's still a little tight, but it zips! I was so happy!! All my hard work is definitely paying off!

So now I have 2.5 months left until the wedding and I am determined to make these next months as great as May was! I am continuing with Insanity (started the second month this week and it's kicking my butt!) and am continuing with my eating plan. I am increasing my caloric intake and protein intake (following the Insanity nutrition guide) in hopes of losing more fat while keeping the lean muscle. We'll see how it goes

Have a great month! emoticon

Wow, you are doing GreAt! You and the baby are beautiful.
We are similar weight, I can just get back into the jeans I wore at Christmas. If I step on the scales up to the left I am 1.5 less than if I step on it to the back.
    Keep going, you are Awesome!
Congratulations on the up coming wedding.

Congrats on fitting into your dress! Glad you got to go home...haven't been back in 7 years because of school/no money. We're planning a trip back this year, though...hope it works out!

I feel like I'm reading the blog post of a new woman compared to the last time I read one of your entries. Your happiness and confidence comes out through your words and it puts a huge smile on my face! I am thrilled that you were able to keep up your program while in Israel. I know that's been really hard on you in the past. That is a huge accomplishment in itself. And fitting into the wedding dress?? Hello fantastic news -- that's a huge ego booster!! 2.5 months will fly by and the extra pounds will come with it. Trust me, everyone says "I don't know where the weight went, it just came off." Something about weddings does it to you.

Good luck and keep up the awesome work!

And thank you for taking the time to reach out to me in your busy busy day!! I sooooo appreciate it! Now it's my turn to return the favor ten fold.

Quick ? for you -- do you know how to change the calorie settings on spark? I think you're right, it might be a bit low for me. I just went on whatever was in my settings from last time, but I can't figure out how to change the darn thing.

Whoops - how did I forget to comment on here? I was curious about the nutrition changes... so what's your recommended protein intake and calorie range now? And WOO HOOOOOOO for the loose pants, getting into the 140's (even if the US scale isn't being as cooperative) and for totally rocking your vacation!

Two and a half months... we are on track! emoticon
