The Reset Button & Fundraising

I'm pushing the reset button again.
This week wasn't the greatest for exercise -- I didn't make it out to gym and I didn't run at all. But next week is a new week, and I will get back into the habit of running again and working out with my trainer.
My boyfriend finished building a raised garden in a sunny spot in our backyard, so now I just need a load of dirt and then I can plant some vegetables. I'm going to grow tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, peppers, beans, zucchini and pumpkins. I just hope the animals that frequent my backyard don't eat all of my vegetables like they did a couple of years ago. Might have to put up some kind of fence.
Today was a tiring, but good, day. My team for the Relay to End Kids Cancer participated in the Great Glebe Garage Sale here in Ottawa to raised money for our team. Our goal is to raise at least $10,000 to fund children's cancer research and treatment. One of our team members lives in the Glebe and we had tons of stuff to sell. I'm not yet sure how much we made, but I'm sure it was easily $1000, perhaps more. I've never seen so many people on the streets -- it was crazy. Since Canada has stopped minting pennies, one of our fundraisers is a penny drive. I had a huge jar for pennies that was perhaps one-tenth full this morning. By the time I left the sale at around 2pm, the jar was full. I don't think we're going to be able to lift it. One woman just stopped at our sale and gave us a $20 donation -- didn't even buy anything. That was lovely.
If any Sparkers are interested in the story of one courageous little girl's battle with cancer, check out phoeberoserocks.blogspot.com. And if you're interested in sponsoring our team, you can do it here: http://searscanada.akaraisin.c
