Getting a Grip with the Help of Alcohol (gelled, in a bottle, for weights)
Friday, May 25, 2012
There were some very, very sad things at work today. By the 3rd one, tears were running down my face & I could not get a grip. I went back to our office. I wasn't hungry, so I didn't want to eat, but I took my lunch break. I sat in the dark for a bit trying to regain control. Finally, I decided to do an exercise video to see if that would help me feel better. So there I am, lifting bottles of hand sanitizer for weights, in the dark, when my co-worker returns. Thank goodness the exercise was working & I was no longer crying. He was a bit shocked, but just smiled & asked if I minded if he turned on the lights. I didn't mind & I asked him if he minded if I finish the video. He said it was fine as long as I didn't mind if he laughed. I told him to feel free to join me. It ended up being a lot of fun & a great way to break the stress. By the way, I am super impressed by how kind & caring the entire team was to the suffering patients & their families.
