New and Improved Binging

Thursday, May 24, 2012

Stefania holding her little dog, Tiffany, in a café in Rome.

Last night I binged before bed. But I am not in despair: the contents of my binge were a small juice glass full of carrot juice, three dried prunes, and a scant teaspoonful of peanut butter. Less than 200 calories--probably less than 150 calories. Binging is not a behavior I endorse and I don't want to do it every night, but I consider what a binged USED to mean in my world: rapidly consuming about 2000-3000 calories in 30 to 45 minutes and stumbling off to bed in a hyperglycemic haze.

I have some new confidence that I can limit and stop a binge. Plus it helps that I don't keep anything too destructive crazy in the house!

Now that's a binge that I can live with!

Good for you for recognizing that binges happen, but if we control WHAT we binge on and HOW OFTEN, then we are moving forward!

Now, that's a binge we should probably all do. Keep up the good work!

Way to go!! Wish that was the extent of my binge. It really does help if you don't keep any of the trigger foods. emoticon emoticon

That is not a binge. You should have seen my hamburger and french fries dinner. Now I let much on my plate, but still...

Sounds like you are doing great. A good sense of humor is key!
