Walking in Memphis

I traveled for the first time this week to Memphis, Tennessee. I've been assigned to a project at work that will require some travel to Memphis, which is a city I'm completely unfamiliar with. That's OK. The same was once true of Chicago, Cincinnati, Atlanta, Minneapolis. But, you go there and then you learn.
Well, I was lucky enough on my first trip to Memphis to take a side trip to Graceland. It was soooo interesting. Most remarkable, to me, is how small and understated the "mansion" is. A minor star of today would have a MUCH bigger and more opulent residence. The grounds of Graceland are beautiful and expansive....but the residence itself is comparatively small. A couple of photos:
When we got back to Memphis, we went to Beale Street to hear some live music. Even on a Tuesday night, there was quite a scene. The caliber of talented singers and musicians was astonishing to me.
As far as business travel goes, this looks like it's going to be quite a bit of fun.
