Brag Blog

So I just needed to share, and brag a little bit. Last night my boyfriend Tim and I did our last practice run for the 5K we are running tomorrow. I wasn't feeling great through most of it, but managed to get a respectable time. I was really not feeling great when I got home, sweaty and nauseous. I have a fridge full of SparkPeople Cookbook leftovers right now, but neither Roasted Pork Tenderloin with Mustard Dill Sauce or Slow Cooker Rosemary Chicken (with some spaghetti sauce mixed in) over whole wheat pasta sounded good. So I just made myself a light salad.

I was still feeling yucky after eating and hydrating, so my boyfriend drew a nice hot bath for me. I felt better after reading for a half hour (The Fiery Cross, by Diana Gabaldon, for my book geek Sparkfriends), and logged my dinner and my run. As I had figured, eating just the salad left me almost 400 calories shy of my bottom goal for the day. I told Tim and he said, "Well, what are you short on?" And I was a little short on carbs, a lot short on fat, and moderately short on protein. He said, "Well, let's go downstairs and take a look at what we have." Then he turned back and said, "How about I core and slice one of the Asian Pears, drizzle some caramel sauce over it, and slice up a little bit of the Irish Cheddar?" I logged it and it worked out perfectly. I ended up just a bit over the bottom of my calorie range for the day,and got all my required macronutrients. So I ate my delicious snack with my wonderful boyfriend while we watched an old episode of the Deadliest Warrior on Netflix. (Comanche Brave vs. Mongol Warrior)

So I had a fantastic workout and ate really well yesterday, and I was supported by my amazing boyfriend. The way he is actively engaged in helping us both be our best selves, healthy and strong so we can build the life we want to together, makes me so happy every day. Him helping me be the best person I can be helps me be here encouraging and supporting all of my Sparkfriends. And he enjoys when I tell him interesting things from your blogs and posts. You're not strangers to either of us. If any of you lived near Central PA, or were passing through, I would definitely want to meet up with you for lunch or a workout.

So I am feeling blessed, blessed, blessed today, by having good health, by my stupendous boyfriend and by all of you. And I just have to brag.

    Oh yes. You MUST brag about the wonderful SigOth. They get too much flack from the major media but when you find a good one...what a keeper!

    Tim is a keeper, for sure!

    If I ever pass through PA, we are totally meeting up for lunch AND a workout! Also, the same goes if you are ever in Idaho!
