Still catching up. Day 6 & 7 is Tuesday and Wednesday.
Early Monday I got an email from Spark celebrating National Curves Day on May 17th. Curves is giving away 1 million, 30-day free memberships. Since my DD is on maternity leave, I still have 4 weeks left without the GKs during the day. Dates and time off coincide.
Maybe my resistance was down reading this email after midnight, but I decided to go for it. I clicked on the link, and was able to schedule an appointment for Tuesday at 10AM. My Curves is about a mile away, so it is convenient. Actually, right beside my DDs dance studio. Sometimes the hours match up.
Got the nerve to go through with it. I just had to fill out a health form, and then shown around the circuit. This workout, although simple, does produce a sweat. I like this, as it is not intimidating, and if I want to come in my street clothes as an afterthought when passing by, I can.
I think I will just be doing it for a month as they do not have child care, and their hours are limited. Which is ideal for taking advantage of the "free" month.
I also did hooping, gardening, and a video in the Spring into Shape Challenge for the day.
MSC - week1, day 6
Wednesday was prep day for me. Only clear liquids before my colonscopy on Thursday. I did my challenge video and was dragging a little. Apple juice for breakfast doesn't go too far, and my stomach was grumbling. I decided to go to Curves again. YAY! Two days in a row. No problem signing in and going at it with 50's music. After that, and grocery shopping, I had to take the 'magic' pink pill.
After picking up DD and GD from school, and DS from work at 4:30, I finally had time to start the fun. I was supposed to start at 3PM, but people still needed rides.
Unless you have experienced it before, you can't imagine how hard it is to drink the solution as time goes by. The first 8oz. aren't bad. Chug-a-lug. I picked the cherry flavor, as I used to love cherry (will later again, I'm sure) LOL. Those 10-minutes-apart stretch just a little further apart, and before another bottoms up, the smell sends a signal to your brain that you don't want to do this. That, and running to the toilet. Later camping there. All in all, it is three hours of torture.
But it did its job. And it was better than when I did this 5 years ago. My dad died of colon cancer, so I do want to do this. The colonoscopy is no big deal, just the prep work. But I am worth temporary torture.
And, as I posted on my status, it IS the 'drink of choice' for weight loss. LOL. This morning I weighed in 3 1/2 pounds less. See how much of that I can keep off until Saturday's last weigh in for the Starfish. And sorry team. Unfortunately a clear liquid diet doesn't have fiber to help our numbers.
MSC - week 1, day 7
If anyone didn't get the email or see the ads on Spark, here is a link to print out a coupon if you are interested. I got no pressure when visiting, and I am using this 30 days to jumpstart any other exercise. I really had more energy when I was finished the 30 minutes each day. I'm also going to check out the Zumba classes next week that they have. 'Free' is a good price for me right now!
