MSC - day 4 & 5 - Expect the unexpected

Wednesday, May 09, 2012

By now, you would think that I do. (In my mind, I think I still do, although I optimistically think that plans will go 'as planned'). Silly me!!

I am behind, so this blog is about Friday and Monday.

Last Friday, Kaysiana had a 'bring someone special to lunch' at school, so DD was going to drop off GD#2 & 3. Yay! Finally going to watch my 2-week old GD. They would come around 11AM, so I had the morning to relax & exercise, Time for me. NOT.

I set the clock for 8:30, as DD was off school to use extra snow days. Except that I got woken up at 8:10. Other DD called. Kaysiana threw up at school at 8:10. Can I go pick her up? DD lives about 45 minutes away; baby needed to get fed yet; and Makenzie wasn't awake yet.

So, my day began. Kaysiana must have had a germbug that needed to get out, because she was fine the rest of the day. We did crafts until mom came around 10:30. We made these. I don't know if you ever did this. Do you know what the design is?

my name - Colette. I also made one for her and her sister.

They left just in time to take Michaela to the salon for her up-do for the prom. The rest of the day was spent helping her get ready. Then driving to her date's house, pictures, and down to DeSales for the prom at 5:00.

Her report -The night was perfect! (Just as a senior prom should be.)

MSC - day 4

Monday, I had it all planned out. Except my DD called early in the morning to 'remind me' that GD had allergy appt. Watched Makenzie and Dilynn that afternoon. Still got exercise in, and a LOT of gardening/weeding over the weekend.

MSC - day 5

So, I will not stop making plans, but I am wise enough (and experienced) to know that flexibility is the key to staying sane. And sometimes the changes are better that the original plan. Around here, change seems to be the norm. I'm just a wise guy. Einstein says so. LOL.

The same applies here. I love schedules and wish I could maintain one but am lucky if I can make it through a day.

    The prom couple looked fantastic!

His plan is always better than ours in the long run.....go with the flow and enjoy the beauty around you. Grandbabies are such a gift, aren't they?
