Excersise+eating healthy=weight lose:)

I have been walking about 2 miles per day for about 5 days per week. I have been losing inches and improving my stamina. I have also been wearing my pedometer and have a goal to walk at least 7000 steps per day. My weight has not decreased but I have still not gotten my eating under control so that is my next step. Yesterday I was thinking why am I exercising and not eating better? Eating poorly negates my exercising. I need to eat healthy and exercise to loose weight.

    Love the equation, it works for me. In addition to improving your eating habits, try increasing the intensity of your walks gradually and see if that makes a difference, e.g., walk for 10 minutes/light jog for 30 seconds (pick times that work for you but you get the point). At first, I'd even suggest that you keep the same distance, unless it starts to feel really good that is and you feel you can go further. emoticon Build consistency with that and then switch up again...increase the walk time or the distance. The switch-up may seem small but together they may give you the scale movement you're looking for.

    I hear you! It seems crazy that increasing your exercise hasn't made a change on the scale. A couple of thoughts---

    1. Although you may not be seeing a change on the scale there are probably other changes take place. Your heart health is improving, inches may be lost, etc.

    2. Try adding small sustainable changes in your eating. By eating better you will feel better and your workouts will improve that much faster. It is so much easier working out when you don't feel bloated from over eating -- been there, done that!

    I know the feeling, I can do my exercising on a daily bases but getting my eating under control is another thing. I start out the week doing great but come Thursday I start to slip. Guess we just need to keep working at it.
