So glad I'm back!!

Thursday, April 26, 2012

So I lost sight of my goals for a little while. I even gained a few pounds. : (
I really think I am ready to do this for myself. I've been through so many phases where I said I'm ready and I want to do this. And of course I meant it. I've wanted it so bad for so long! But now I still really want it but the difference is I have confidence in myself to do it. I always started expecting to fail. This time I know I wont!! It also helps my husband is starting this journey with me. Which kind of makes me emotional because I know he wants what is best for me and of course he wouldnt mind dropping a few pounds but I think he is doing this for me. And it makes me so happy. For the first time I'm excited to eat healthy and exercise and lose weight. I havent loved myself in a LONG time and I think its about time I do.
ok so I have been doing really good this last week and have lose 3 pounds so far. But I want to make sure I'm doing this right. So I've been following the calories spark gave me. 1220- 1550 I believe. Yesterday I was under my calories but it had felt like I had eaten enough. I wanted to ask if I was under my calorie intake all the time what could happen? Is it bad? Could it make me plateau later on in my journey?
Here is yesterdays intake. Tell me what you think.
I forgot to split them up into meals so I'm just gonna list everything.
2 chicken breast
fat free ranch
light vanilla yogurt
peanut butter
string cheese
tuna triscuts
Total- 1120 calories

Here is another day
2 chicken breast
fat free ranch
provel cheese
hazelnut creamer
dill pickles
Total-1100 calories

So what do you think? Am I doing anything wrong? Any advice?
I'm so new to this and I want to make sure I am doing it right. I've cut out my soda completely and have went down to only one starbucks drink a week. Which is usually 220 calories I think. Ive been making my own iced coffee at home and it cuts the calories way way down and saves me money.
I also think I need some new ideas for food. recipes etc. I dont want to get tired of the same old thing and I def dont want my husband to. lol.
I would also like fun work out ideas. I think this will be my biggest struggle in the beginning. Hubby said something about rollerblading. Which when I looked it up said it would burn 400-500 calories every half hour and I think it would be fun. What are some of your favorite workouts that you really enjoy?

I really want to get back into blogging. For myself but for you guys to. Hoping I can maybe motivate or help at least one person along the way. I also want to get back into my video blogging too. Maybe so I can go back and look at my body change. Because it WILL!! : ))

Anyway I hope to hear from you guys. I could really use the help!!
Thanks everyone!!!!

Hey, glad to see you back! My, husband actually joined on Monday after watching me the last 2 months!

I do have to tell you that it is really important that you eat at least the low end of the calorie amounts spark provides you. The reason for this is that the body will think it is being starved and will stop burning and slow down your weight loss.

I had to learn that the frustrating way! One way that make sure that I hot at least the low end of the calories is to make sure to eat breakfast. That was really hard for me, I am not a breakfast person. So usually I am eating some kind of sandwich for breakfast.

This may sound strange to, becoming healthy is just as much a mind game as it is eating and doing the right things.

Everyone here love to help, work thru things. Reach out, I sure do! the people on here are full of lots of support and knowledge!

    Hi gorgeous!!

So glad to see you back & blogging again! It's really great to hear that you're starting out with a new positive attitude! That's really one of your greatest assets! It's also AWESOME that your hubby is on board with you. Always helps. Even when my beaux isn't on a healthy streak, he's always very supportive which is really important. Also good would be to tell friends, family, coworkers, whoever about your goals so you feel more accountable. & DEFINITELY reach out on sparkpeople. Write on forums every day, comment on blogs, & make TONS of friends! It's really what's made the difference for me this time around.

As far as going below your calories, definitely eat when you're hungry & stop when you're full, but I'd stop & talk with a spark coach on the forums about it. Too much of a calorie deficit can put your body into starvation mode which put your weight-loss goals & long-term health at risk.

Looking forward to hearing from you more again!

Thanks!! It's unbelievable the amount of support you will get here!! It's really helped me and I enjoy getting on here and tracking my calories etc. But the people are amazing!! No one ever judges you. And its so motivating to see others just like yourself reaching their goals. I'm glad you joined and I cannot wait to hear about and see your progress!! I also use the spark iphone app to track everything so if you have an iphone I would get it. It makes tracking super convenient. So how have you been doing the past couple days? Are you tracking calories and working out now? I love to hear what others are doing. It's motivating and sometimes give me new ideas on what to do since I've never been very successful before now. oh btw I bought a kinect game to work out to and have maybe used it a handful of times. maybe I should get back into that to since those things are so darn expensive!! lol.

I really know how you feel about falling off...I bought a fitness game for the kinect and promised myself i would do it. I think I worked out 3 times within 6 months...I was so mad at myself when I realized what was happening, I had gained weight again. I'm in college full time so i'm incredibly busy, but that should be a small inconvenience, Not my crutch. so I've been on this site for two days and I love it, I'm so glad you sent me a friend request because I really don't want to quit this time and it's nice to see someone else feeling like I do.
