What did I give up?

Wednesday, April 25, 2012

I gave up a comfort zone and allowed my body to do it's job. I gave up unattentiveness. I had to hone my listening skills to my body and eat a meal in the middle of the night when my body said, "I'm hungry."

I also listened to my food buddie. When others said don't eat those ice cream sundaes, and my body said yes....let's take the slower route and give me one now. I gave it a sundae followeed by a celery carrot stick--bunches of them. I listened to my food buddie when I told her what a great pasta meal I made, and she had the guts to ask me the amounts of veggies and pasta--and when the pasta was way too much, she had the guts to ask me if I was crazy, and then I had to ask my body to listen to me while I made an executive decision. It was my hands that I delegated throwing the dish away.

I gave up hurriedness and elected to have patience that while others were losing quickly or not at all, I kept on track being one of the slowest turtles around. I had to look elsewhere when I got on one of those plateaus that lasted and lasted next to forever.
