Back on track!

Yesterday was the last day of a very long week. My husband and I followed a 7 day "de-tox" program. The only thing that kept me going was repeating to myself that I could do "ANYTHING" for a week. Hubby lost 12 pounds and 6 for me.

One of the reasons I chose to do this was because I didn't have my computer and was really struggling with tracking food...mainly, I didn't. A couple of pounds crept back and I knew I needed to change things. Usually, I start the mornings off with some type of whole grain cereal and fruit, lunch is generally a healthy sandwich with fruit or veggies. Two weeks ago, the fruit magically turned into potato chips, (my favorite kind with the ridges). Three days in a row they turned up at lunch time, and it was not a weighed out serving! I was grabbing giant handfuls!!! And then you know how it goes...you overeat at lunch and then you think what the heck, let's have some fried chicken and mashed potatoes for dinner!

So that's when I decided to "clean house" for a week. During that week, my oldest son brought me a new computer and installed it! All I could think about was getting back to sparking! He told me, "Now you can measure and track your food, again, mom!" I love that kind of support! (he was my favorite child for a brief moment, there!)

Hubby and I made it through that week on sheer will...do we feel better? Yes, but thank heavens it's over!

Today, I am back tracking my "normal" healthy food. It seemed indulgent to have that fruit this morning along with a slice of double fiber bread spread with 16 grams of peanut butter! I'm getting giddy just thinking about it, HA!
Even though I derailed a couple of weeks ago, I am happy that I chose to change things to get back on track instead of regaining any more weight. That IS progress for me.

Anyway, here's to a great healthy and active week for all of us! I have strength training today and Zumba tomorrow. Love the Zumba!!!

    You're braver than I am, those things scare me.
    Must be this time of year because no matter how hard try to get the planned meal on the table something happens. I've got veggies in the oven looks like rest of this week will be dinner at lunch right now, so have no excuse for something healthy. Smiling about Those chips, broke down and bought the snack size sun chips for portion control and put the sack wayyyy in the back of the pantry so not so tempted to gorge.
    I agree, it's cool you have such great family support!!!

    YAY for you! I can totally understand about the chips and meals and not tracking. Been my life too for the last couple of weeks. Mainly due to stress and being really overwhelmed at work and no concentration.

    I am terrified of cleanes, so HUGE congrats to you- you one one touch cookie and I can imagine HOW hard that is- but how amazing you must feel that you DID it! You toughened it out- you survived- you are that strong!!!

    How nice you are being so supported- makes a huge difference, right?!
