Motivation of the moment.

I'm at the tail end of the flu that morphed into a bronchial infection. Whew. I really do believe the bugs get worse as the cures get weaker; but I digress. Thank God for the hope of prayer.
So, my philosophy on healthy eating, diet, exercise etc., is that you're only as successful as your current motivation. That motivation remains the same for long periods of time for some and changes for others, it seems. Well my underlying motivation has always been that I come from a family where my father had his first of three heart attacks in his late 30's; yes, not even 40 yrs old! He lived to be 75. And I lost my brother at age 25 of a heart attack. Evidently there's more to this than poor diet, however, still some serious motivation to get healthy, huh?
Well, it still wasn't until the doctors wanted to place me on hypertension meds before I was 40 for me to get serious. That was My first and is my underlying motivation. I, of course, have parallel motivations from time-to-time, like getting into a certain outfit, but to beat my family odds is my constant. So, I'm grateful for everything I learn that helps me stay motivated. Now if I can just get my resting heart rate into the 40s; New Goal!
