Hmm, yes ... it's been a while since I've been around.
Had a sleep study last night. It's a surreal experience--you go to what looks like a cute little hotel room. You hang out and watch TV for a while. Then some nice people hook you up to oxygen and heart rate monitors, put goo on your scalp, and tape things to your face. Then you go to sleep.
I was diagnosed with mild to moderate sleep apnea; my sleep is definitely being disrupted. I have to go back for another overnight, during which they will put me on a cpap and determine the correct pressure. Hoping this will be the start of feeling better and that I'll be inspired and enabled to lose weight. I knew being overweight made sleep apnea worse, but didn't realize that the sleep disruption actually makes it difficult to lose weight and contributes to insulin resistance as well as putting a lot of strain on your heart and raising levels of immune factors that impact health in all sorts of ways. I'm excited to see if this will help my energy level and help the pounds come off.
