The Grass Is Greener Where You Make It Greener

Friday, March 09, 2012

How often have I thought that if I only moved here, or moved there or changed this non sequential thing about myself everything would some how fall into place. I took the mindset on and moved through 5 different places in the last decade and low and behold for all accounts I am still 150lbs over weight and still on the roller coaster.

The grass is greenest where you have taken the initiative to make it "green". That's it, that is the whole mantra there folks. I hate exercise, totally. I hate moving and I hate about 500 other things as I sit here and sulk about how life sucks and blah blah blah.

Oddly enough while I am sweating my ass off and in the midst of my hate, I wonder why I feel like "a million bucks". Sitting there at the bus stop, drenched in sweat wondering how the hell I am going to walk back, though not really caring because I feel GREAT, better than GREAT SEX great. Why because I have accomplished even the littlest of feats, I have overcome myself. If only for that one moment.

The "green" is where you make it green one day, one moment at a time.

    good to see you back.

And I very much agree with this, we are the only people who have the power to make us feel like crap or feel like a million stars....

I had a boss who was 135 lbs soaking wet who had a heart attack. He exercises for cardio health. He religiously goes to the gym 3 times a week. He told me that he hates the thought to going to the gym and hates actually going there too, but on the drive home he feels so glad that he did it. I guess it's about discipline. While we had the thought of exercise, we should try to remember how good we'll feel afterwards.

    Glad to see you back.

I wasn't a big fan of exercise either, or really anything requiring me to move and put forth effort... and then I started exercising and realized how awesome I feel when I MOVE! It's funny how something we hate can make us feel so good.

    Ditto DRKEYZ820.
My current health issues keep me from the things that I love.
I can no longer be an active person and it is really tough.
yesterday the Dr. weighed me and wasn't too happy. And I found out just how much weight I need to lose. But, I can-with the help of my sparkfriends. X you can do it too. And you may even come to love exercise. Even walking is great exercise.
    You can do it!

aw my friend -do i miss u!
You are right, we are what we make of things.
And you feel like a Million Bucks, because YOU my friend accomplished something FOR YOURSELF! Your the one who worked hard to burn off a lb etc. YOU MADE IT HAPPEN FOR U! I dont think any of us absolutely LOVEEEEEEE to exercise, sure alot of us like it, because it makes us feel like "a million bucks" but we do it because were fighting for ourselves.
Sweat = accomplishment. So feel proud for what u accomplished!
