Good Intentions

Tuesday, February 21, 2012

I left town last Friday with a plan in hand. Good food packed, yoga mat packed, ankle weights & straps packed. I was prepared to spend a few days on a college campus with my son. I was going to make sure that I got my workout time, proper food, and sleep. Boy have I forgot what "college life" is all about.

We stayed in a guest room at the college that my son's girlfriend attends. His future college is a few miles down the road so we thought it would be nice and cost effective to stay with her. Never again, I think every student in that dorm was converging on the room next to my bed. emoticon

No sleep, uncomfortable bed, and no peace and quiet makes one mom very vulnerable to bad choices. I did try and go to the gym once and for a very expensive college the fitness center was very lacking. I think the equipment was there from my grandparents days.

I am so glad to be back to my routine, and comfort.

It is so hard to get sleep in a strange place, even when its not a college dorm.....but what really gets me is your comments about the gym. With emphasis on exercise, this gym really needs to get on track.

Like millergirl's comment - think of it as an adventure -- and one you don't want to repeat! It is so easy to let 'life' get in our way, isn't it? But we are human and the nice thing about it is there will be tomorrow to begin again! Welcome back to the routine!
