They say that losing "just" 10% of your body weight significantly improves your health. Well, 10% for me is still quite hefty, so I have broken down my weight loss goals into smaller increments, 3% at a time. Meaning first 3% of my starting weight, then 3% of my "new" weight, and so on.

I know that the closer to final goal, the slower the weight comes off, so this is a way to take that into account and not have to wait too long for the rewards as the finishing line gets closer.

I reached my first 3% today and that was a nice feeling. Even though the change in my body is barely noticeable, it is still encouraging. Maybe even more so when the physical signs are not that obvious.

To each milestone, I've attached a reward, going from pretty small to more substantial. As for my first 3%, I'm going to get myself a new water bottle emoticon

    Good for you, babe. I think I might try that. I feel a bit overwhelmed with the whole weightloss battle right now. I feel like I'm going in the wrong direction. :( But, there's always hope.

    Good strategy as I am following the biggest loser now and then I see that 3 % is what the contestants lose every week... for me it might take a little longer!

    Well done reaching that first goal! Have you tried the Brita water bottles? Talking to a friend yesterday who loves hers so I'm going to try it out myself.
