"You're Looking Good"

I was feeling frustrated since I have been losing so slowly and can't get past my lowest from last year. Plus, my sister posted that she had lost 22 lbs and 33 inches in January. A student I had about 5 years ago saw me at the gym and said."You're looking good." That was so encouraging - my body is changing and I know the weight will come off. I just got to keep plugging away!

I found out my sister has been going to Metabolic Research Center which I don't think is a healthy way to lose weight. Last year she did the HCG diet and lost a bunch, but then gained it all back. I rather do it with exercise and diet and keep it off than go on that yo-yo.

Tonight I did a 90 minute cardio intervals on the gazelle and the elliptical. I am going to bust this plateau!!!

    The SP way is sometimes a little slow but it is the surest way to keep the weight off forever. When it comes down to it not gaining it back is really the hardest part.

    I'm glad you aren't listening to the lies of an easy fix! We didn't get overweight without building bad habits, and now we've got to replace them with healthy habits! Slow but sure wins the race for a lifetime!

    Carrie, it is probably a little bit tempting to do the other options for losing weight. But I too, have seen friends on the hcg plan, only to have the weight come back later. What you and I are doing is the long term lifestyle plan. It is hard work no doubt. You are losing the weight from the inside out, and gaining muscle as well. When you are frustrated with the plateau you are stuck on, just keep focused on your inside health at that time. Your bones, heart and metabolism need the workout too!

    And isn't it fabulous that your student noticed and said something? That's worth a happy dance!!

    Most important is not to compare yourself. There are multiple factors that come into play when trying to lose. One day you will reach your goals.

    There are no quick fixes to lose weight. My friend lost 30 pounds on HCG diet and put most of it back on when she went on vacation.

    Exactly!! Fad diets and crash aren't the way to go! You have the right attitude...even if it is harder! It pays off and those little NSV's are great! emoticon
