Short and....well...just short.

Had a lightbulb moment. I'm a stay at home mom, and never have anyone to talk to, so I eat. My kids are great, BUT they stress/frustrate me, so I eat. My husband is always gone, so I eat. It's winter and it's hard to get out and exercise, so I eat. What's the lightbulb moment???

FOOD IS MY FRIEND. (I can't believe I just figured this out)

I know what you mean, except I probably don't rely on food quite that much. I've been lucky to meet another mom who has kids the same age/grade as mine. We're even due close together. But being winter it's hard to get out. Definitely check to see if there are play groups or mom groups in your area. Also you can check your local library/ Some do children's programs/reading times. Ours started a few weeks ago and just being able to get out of the house and even chat with the librarian is helpful.

See if your area has a parents as partners/teachers group. It is usually run by the school district. the one in our area had 2x a week play time for the kids. It was an hour or so where your kids could be around other children and the parents could talk to other parents. Your kids can also get screened early for speech and some other developmental problems. My kids loved it since they got to be around other kids once in a while. Might be a bit of a stress reviler for you.
