Three meals a day goal

Tuesday, January 24, 2012

About 25 days ago I set a goal to have three meals a day. In addition to this, it is a goal to have breakfast before lunch time.

Well... I haven't done too bad on it, but it is now four or five days out of the last 25 that I've not met the three meals a day goal. It's real hard to eat enough and often enough. I'm frustrated because I have very little to no appetite. Any ideas to how I can get my appetite back?

Honestly you know my advice on it: force yourself to eat at least a small meal even if you don't feel hungry. The same principle I apply to not waiting to feel motivated to exercise, heh. Good luck!!

Avoid liquids in the morning until you've eaten. I used to fill up on coffee early on and then crash at 10am cause I hadn't actually eaten.

On low carb a lessened appetite can be a side effect. It's not generally considered very serious though - some people even think that we are actually designed by nature to binge on high fat, high protein meals ("Yay! The tribe just killed the mammoth, let's feast!") and then lounge around for a day or so digesting ("Yawn. Nap time.") Kind of like the other big carnivores! Is that what you're experiencing, or are you just NEVER hungry, in which case you might need to have your thyroid levels checked out?

Well, that's the opposite problem that most people here have! LOL Skipping a meal four times a month really isn't a big deal. My only suggestion would be that if its a mealtime and you feel guilty that you should be eating something, try a piece of fruit. You can generally much on an apple even if you're not hungry. It's fewer than 100 calories and has some decent nutrition, including fiber, which is hard for me to get enough of in my diet even though I'm eating properly now.
