It's all about adapting and balance

I haven't been blogging much here. I am finding that I am getting more response and finding more motivation from tumblr these days however I still read your blogs so don't think I've disapeared!
So anyways, here's a little update from me:
I'm still weighing in and recording my daily weight. So far for January I'm down 1.6lbs. Doesn't sound like much hey? But when I divide 1.6lbs by 10 days it works out to 0.16lbs per day loss. Again doesn't sound like much to me. Then I take my average loss of 0.16 lbs per day and multiply by 31 days in january and I'm looking at a 4.96 lbs loss for the month. Suddenly that seems like a great result! So in conclusion I'm looking to lose over 4lbs for January (1lb a week which is very respectful and responsible).
I've been ramping up my workouts and aiming for 5-7 days a week. Basically "rest days" fall on days when there just isn't enough hrs in the day to workout (yes that happens based on priorities). Some of you might say "well just make working out a priority". The thing is that I do make them a priority but I'm all about balance in 2012 and so sometimes my family, school, life etc becomes a bigger priority on that day. AND THAT'S OK.
January start weight: 156.6lbs
09/10/12: 155.0 lbs
I'm looking to see 154.8 tomorrow. Baby steps and baby goals. So much more acheivable!
I have also discovered tracking calories on my fitness pal and I'm a convert. Don't get me wrong, spark people is GREAT however my fitness pal allows you to scan a bar code and well OBVIOUSLY that's easier! I'm finding it MUCH more motivating and I like having the number of calories left for the day showing on the first screen for me. I also like that on days I rock the workouts I eat more and on days I don't, I don't each as much as opposed to averaging for the week. It's working for me for now.
I realize that this journey is all about adapting at any given time. Spark people has taught me so much and now I'm using tumblr, My fitness pal and daily mile for different motivation.
