Working too hard, and eating at braai's/barbeque's

Sunday, January 08, 2012

So,

week 2 of my healthy lifestyle journey is coming to a close. Which is great. I'm starting to see results and I'm as motivated as ever BUT I've been working WAY TOO HARD!

On friday night I started feeling a bit sick and then I felt really sick. I tried to work out why I was feeling so ill this week and it dawned on me. My body hates me right now it hasn't been this active in a long time and I didn't really take the gradual approach when it came to working out. I'm an all or nothing kind of girl. I realize that I've been feeling a little off this week since about tuesday morning but I just muscled on with a complete disregard for my health. I mean I won't be airlifted to a hospital any time soon but I'm drained my chest hurts a bit and my nose could rival the faulty tap in our bathroom.

And now the big question to workout or not workout come Monday morning even if I do my whole routine low impact?

One more thing, how does one create a healthy plate at a braai with all that steak and potatoe salad floating around? I think I did alright. I had some of the chicken and piled on all the leafy/vegetable based salads and kept my alcohol consumption pretty low.

Anyways,

I hope everyone is up and activate and loving life. But please remember to give your body some down time or face the dreaded influenza or head cold or whatever this is like I am :(
