These are my 2 biggest roadblocks when it comes to weight loss! If you set something good to eat in front of me I'm going to eat it and I'm going to eat it until it is GONE, I don't care if it's a dozen cookies, a whole pie, a bag of tortilla chips and salsa, etc. I can't stop myself, I'll try for a few minutes and then I start craving it and can't stop! I have to conciously remind myself over and over again that I will LIVE without that (insert junk food.)
I was very proud of myself yesterday, I sat through a 2 hour meeting with a dozen cookies (M&M, my FAVE) in front of me and didn't even touch them! It wasn't easy, I thought, "oh just one won't hurt," several times. The problem is I can't stop with just one. Just like an alcoholic can't stop with JUST one drink, I can't stop with JUST one cookie. The problem is unlike an alcoholic I have to have food to survive, so I can't just avoid it altogether. So that ONE cookie that I did NOT eat was a HUGE accomplishment for me.
