"Read it and Weep"

Thursday, January 05, 2012

Tonight my trainer took my measurements. It wasn't pretty. The last time she took measurements was mid November. She plugged in the numbers, handed me the sheet and said, "Read it and weep". I had a 2% gain in body fat and my other numbers were up also. I knew it was bad, because I have struggled the last couple of months.

We talked over my goals and things of what to do. She wants me to alternate weeks of intense exercise. One week = 120 minutes, the next week = 75 minutes. Therefore I am resetting my exercise goals. She also upped my set repetitions to 5. I am sore tonight, so I am sure I will be more so tomorrow. However, she was very encouraging,

Daily Goals checked off:
2. Exercise
--120 min a day emoticon did 128!
--go to gym 4-5x's a week emoticon
--do a walk at home DVD 5x's a week emoticon not today
--walk on the treadmill at home at least 30 min 5x's a week emoticon
--do one SP exercise video or some strength training BEFORE doing SP emoticon

3. Water
--Drink 10-12 glasses a day (80-96 oz) 12 oz emoticon

4. Food
--stay within calorie range of 1400-1600 calories a day. emoticon

How quickly our less-than-healthy choices catch up to us! We pretend we're "fine" even when we know deep down we are not moving toward our goals whole-heartedly.
Your post also reminds me that the scale number isn't the only thing that counts! Those body measurements and body fat % are critical in the big picture! Be healthy! Choose wisely! Stay Focused! And remember, You Lost Your Quit quite a while ago! Don't go looking for it now! Hugs, Susie

It can only help your resolve to keep exercising and losing! I'm sure you are going to be right back on track! Like I told my husband about some "negative feedback" you can use it to defeat you...or use it to spur you on to better things for the next time! emoticon

Good on you! It's always better to face the numbers truthfully, instead of living afraid of what htye might tell us.

look those numbers straight in the eye....end get right back on your Spark hobby horse!
