My younger son is probably going to become a father on Tuesday, December 20th. His wife has a "due date" of Dec. 18th and the doctor says that because she does not want to go past her "due date" she will induce her on Monday evening, the 19th, and to expect a baby boy on the 20th.
I am glad that the baby is going to be born, but I wonder if the doctor is thinking about her own convenience--trying to induce all of her patients so that they will be out of the hospital by Christmas weekend.
Of course I had my children in the Medieval time period when induction was a rarity!
I said I wouldn't do it, but I am shopping for baby things! His name will be Noel. I don't know if there will be an umlaut or not.
No baby yet: Dec. 18th, almost midnight!
December 19th: Young couple in hospital 1000 miles south of us.
December 20th: Still no baby; maybe a C-Section is in the future.
12/21/2011: 1:26 AM: Baby born naturally!
