New Vegetarian and My victory over the christmas cookie

Friday, December 16, 2011

So after much research and thinking I decided that in order for me to live my optimal life meat was to be cut out. (This is just a personal thingdont go crazy lol) After reading article after article and different scientific reports on the matter many of the things i read completely nausiated me and helpedwith my decision. So far, Im learning that being a vegetarian is only difficult because of mindset. Many people bash it because they believe that eating meat is much more convinient because of the fast paced life we've become accoustomed to , but thats not so. Its just as easy to eat butternut squash dumplings on the road as it it chicken nuggets.

Will have some vegetarian recipes coming soon.

This is the time of year we make about a billion cookies of all different verieties and today i had to make most of them by myself. In the past it has been one coookie for yall and 2 for me lol Or id eat a ton of dough BUT TODAY I DIDNT!! I baked all the cookies quickly so i wouldnt be overly tempted. i didnt have ANY!! and that makes me happy.. I met my goal ;)

be blessed,

emoticon emoticon with the cookies...the power is in you...YOU CAN DO THIS!

I'm a big veggie eater, and still I was concerned when my dd decided she wanted to go vegetarian but I've seen her diet and it's awesome. You can get everything you need so go for it. This is your journey, so try it out. It may be just what the doc ordered. emoticon

I did the vegetarian thing about 10 years ago when I wanted to lose weight the first time and it worked great - I lost a lot of weight and kept it off. However, I was not supplementing the protein I was losing so that was a big problem particularly since I found out 5 years ago that I had a genetic protein deficiency (which made me at a high risk for blood clots). I have since started back eating chicken and turkey (fish every now and then - not a big fan of fish).

But you do what works for you and make sure you get enough protein.
