Going OK....

Just a quick update.... I did great with my Christmas parties. The first one I had a chicken fajita salad that was heavenly. The one on Sunday night.... it had a red neck theme, so there was frito pies, chili with lots of fat separating at the top.... (yuk). So I opted for a few Ritz crackers, a few quartered slices of lunch meat, some raw veggies and fruit. Didn't eat a whole lot, but came home to enjoy a banana smoothie.

2 days in a row now I have not exercised. Been kind of frustrated.... feeling a little overwhelmed with stuff that needs to be done.... basic housekeeping with the dogs, regular house cleaning (and mind you, I am certainly NOT a neat freak... just like to have things tidy and sanitized), making sure the boys adequately study for finals this week, MY job, getting the boys to and from their activities and appointments, etc.... I usually WILL make time to exercise, but the past 2 days I have just not been able to. We have had wet, cold weather so it is not ideal to go walking in.... plus I will not walk alone in the dark. I am just trying to rationalize by telling myself I am burning a fair amount of calories with all of the cleaning and running around I am doing. Won't be able to exercise tomorrow.... Then Wed. is my weigh in day for my challenge...

At least my eating is going well! I have stayed within range the whole time. Keeping it around 1200 on these days where I don't exercise. I should at least be down a pound, if not 2, this week. I have to say.... I HAVE been tempted today! Came very close!!!!! Was given a boat load of candy at the Christmas party last night. It needs to go!!!!

I did discover a fun indulgence.... now that I have resolved to the fact that I am most definitely lactose intolerant, I have been drinking soy milk like crazy and have been loving it. Well, for the holidays, SILK has put out a chocolate/mint flavor soy milk! Only 90 calories for a cup. I have been heating it up and drinking it like hot chocolate. It's not rich, it's kind of light, but for me that is just fine! I forgot I have some mini marshmallows in my pantry that I am going to add next time.

WIll update after my weigh in Wednesday... tomorrow is going to be crazy.....

    Great job handling the parties!! WOO HOO!!! YOU GO GIRL!

    Sometimes life is just plain crazy! Put on your bugg & see how many calories you are burning on your crazy days! That might help you see whether or not you are making up for those missed workouts!

    Looking forward to hearing about your first weigh-in of the competition!!

    You are doing great!! The holidays are hard with all the extra goodies around. It sounds like you have a good handle on things, though.
    And, I too, count household chores as part of my workout since I usually work up a good sweat when I'm doing them.

    Doing ok is really good at this time of yr! I've been sick since this weekend, so the only exercise I've gotten is walking the dogs - and even skipped that on Sunday, so you know I really don't feel well!

    Way to go on using two different strategies for two different parties. The Christmas season can be challenging but it sounds like you have a good handle on things. By the way I love your background picture.

    Good job on the parties! I find parties and social settings so hard to control my food.

    Just remember that even though you aren't getting traditional workouts in doesn't mean your body isn't working hard AND sometimes knocking off things on our to-do lists are just as good for our health as a workout! Stress is killer.
