It's okay because....

Friday, December 09, 2011

Well now I am on my second attempt to get healthy and STAY healthy. People are starting to notice again and with that comes....

(them)Hey lets go have a drink.
(me) Gotta pass on that :)
(them)It's okay because vodka is low calorie

(them)Make sure you go eat lunch (christmas work lunch)
(me) I brought my lunch better stick with it
(them) It's okay because it's Christmas

(them)Here have a brownie
(me) No can do
(them)It's okay because it's Friday

(them)Here have some popcorn (after dumping 1/2 cup butter and 3 tablespoons of salt on it)
(me) I just ate so I'm good
(them)It's okay because your doing so well

This makes me crazy. I always try to be polite but I just want to scream "DON'T YOU KNOW THAT'S THE THINKING THAT GOT ME TO BE MORBIDLY OBESE?!" It is hard..I would love to go out and have drinks, brownies ROCK, buttery popcorn mmmmmmmmm yum...BUT I have managed to substitute the alcohol for water, the brownies for Vitatops and forget the popcorn all together for the most part. It seems to offend people when you make the healthy choice over the junk. True those things are fun and yummy..but the way I feel, the energy that I have now, the glow that comes from healthy food and working out is WAY better!! It makes me feel sad that it is easier to hide the fact that I am trying to change my life than to be open about it. People say that you inspire them while following that statement with temptations. Oh well...sorry to vent but it had to be done and the stress is released. emoticon

I don't know if they feel a sense of triumph if they do actually manage to tempt us off our plan but it really does irritate (if we allow it). Maybe it's easier for them to try to sabotage others than do something beneficial for their own health. You know - "If I can't be thin, please make all my friends fat!"

    Well done!!
