Gym Rat once again!

Wow, I have forgotten how great I feel when I workout first thing in the morning before work. Let me remember this and have it motivate me for the rest of the week!
Our gym got almost all new equipment. I haven't been a couple of months I think. I went yesterday and did one of their new ellipticals for 45 minutes. Oh boy! Did I get a great cardio workout! I did an interval program and when I was doing the intervals with greater resistance my heart rate was up to 160! That's very high for me.... then at the lower intervals it was at 140 which is still pretty good for me.
I guess when I run I am not able to push myself cardio-wise. My legs start hurting before I become out of breath, lol. So I am thinking it is a good thing to be crosstraining a bit. I can work the heart every morning on the elliptical and work the legs on a run 3 times a week.
They also got new weight machines... right when I got used to the old ones. I guess I will learn to like them once I figure these out. It just seems like there are a lot of pulleys and ropes that look confusing and don't seem to feel as smooth as the old ones.
Eating has been better, but not the best.... not "great".... but def. better. Maybe making slow changes is best. Not really looking to lose any more than these 10 lbs I put on this past month. I am just trying to achieve the balance that I need to maintain my weight without feeling like I am too obsessinve about every little detail.
The plan for this evening is to go for a run while DS is at tennis lessons. I think I forgot to mention I have a 5K this weekend. Should be interesting considering I have been sidelined from running the past 2 weeks. Well.... the boys have a tennis tourn. scheduled for this weekend too. And..... well,..... if their match times "just happen" to fall during the time of the 5K, then I guess I won't be able to run in it..... Not that I am hoping that is going to happen or anything....
