Bombshell Mission..Day 8!

Day 8 and feelin great. (sorry had to do it).

I woke up this morning and to my HORROR, I COULD NOT WALK. I had to limp around my room in god awful pain. My right leg from my knee all the way to my hip was screaming in sharp pain. I have no idea how the right side now has become an issue (the left always was the problem). NOT GOOD! Anyway, it eventually became bareable, and I was able to walk the rest of the day.

After work, I came back to the hotel and chilled out. I didnt sleep last night very well, so I was tired. Plus a full work day...phew! Chatted with a friend (same one that got my butt movin yesterday) and I told her to make me workout in 30 minutes. So, I was a couch potato for 30 minutes then she dinged me and I got in my workout clothes and drove to the 24 hour fitness in town instead of the hotel gym.

I was supposed to run today but I knew that wouldnt happen because of my leg pain, so I swapped it with strength training I'm supposed to do tomorrow. FIrst, I got on the elliptical and did 10 minutes so I would get my HR up. Then got off there and lifted. I absolutely LOVE strength, just hate that it doesnt burn many calories lol (I know, I know).

Came back, showered, then headed to Panera Bread for dinner. Had a cup of brocolli cheddar soup and half of their new artichoke panini..rang in around 590 calories. Then hit starbucks on the way back to my hotel for a decaf non fat cafe misto (THANK YOU LIGHTNINGRUNNER FOR MY NEW FAV DRINK!!!!!!) and I also had them put some sugar free vanilla in it. For a whopping 90 calories! I also have my trader joe bar to enjoy a little later :)

Ended my day around 1300 calories. I was SUPER TEMPTED to have fast food cheeseburger, and then I really wanted ice cream BUT it wasnt worth the feelings afterwards or breaking my streak!!!!

    I am completely with you on trading strength sometimes for the run. I do that myself. Somedays my legs just don't want to run; no way no how! But strength training always feels good afterward, not to mention how well it sculpts the bod. Even at 50 I have people just not believe my age when they see the muscle tone I've managed to keep just by lifting weights. I started lifting when I was 18! Best thing I ever did!

    So glad you love the Misto. During the hot months it is either trenta Iced Coffee or Starbucks double shot.

    You did so good today. And yes, that misto is wonderful, especially with some sugar free flavoring. Have that all the time!! Hope your leg is feeling better tomorrow. Just had to tell you: did 9 miles today (3.8 outside 36 mins & 5.2 on the treadmill in 50 mins. My DD was still home today!) Hate running on the treadmill. I stop to often then if I'm running outside and just go. Hoping that's the end of my treadmill running for awhile!!

    Hope tomorrow is just as good for you as today!
