The end of another month, almost the end of the year
Monday, October 24, 2011
Here we are at the end of October and almost the end of another year; it seems to have gone by so quickly. I think of my five year old grandson and remember the day he was born as if it were yesterday, holding his little body in my arms as he played with my moustache. Now at five he's half as tall as I am and will surely pass my by in a few short years, growing as tall, or taller than his father.
I reflect on the the year and the things that happen, as well as the things that might have happened, pondering both with not the slightest bit of awe and amazement. How do we manage it day after day, week after week, year after year? Our lives are so complicated and so full of "things," that it is very easy to forget the special moments;... like holding my grandson and his innocent smile as he tugs at my moustache.
Time moves on and so do our lives, but we must never lose sight of the little things that are a part of our existence, our reason for living.
Thank you God.
