I originally stopped to take a pic of fog hanging over the Tehachapi Mountains.
I kept hearing a Raven. He wasn't crowing loud, just a quiet squawk. I looked up, and there he was on top of a telephone pole. He would jump up, squawk, then fly down a bit, then repeat the process. I wondered, what in the world is the bird doing, when I spotted a Hawk on the same pole. It didn't look as big as the Red Tailed Hawk we see often in our area. I snapped a couple of pics (couldn't get a good close up) of the Hawk, then when my Hubby got home we decided it was a Cooper's Hawk. You don't see them often, so I was thrilled. Leave it to the Raven to try and start trouble. I thought the Raven was crazy. You don't mess with a Hawk, but Raven's have a reputation to live up to. The Raven flew off when it saw me.
The Hawk didn't like me looking at it either. It took off after a bit.
I then went to my friends house, and played ball with her dogs. Trimmed her roses, and took more photos.
These two pics are the same rose bud, but at different angles. I couldn't decide which pic I liked the best, so I will let you decide.
A Bee flew into this rose.
This isn't the most exciting shot, but to me it looked like the rose bud was hugging the bigger rose. Yes I have a big imagination.
There was a Sparrow looking for bugs or worms.
Sparrows in my yard. I wonder if they will ever get used to me. Would be nice hehe
