Hello SP Friends:
I have been in Weight Watchers long enough to weigh in to see a 6.2 lbs drop in weight in the first week...Did Weight Watchers do it for me?...Nooooo
I have been in the "Made to Crave" Class and working through the books for a week now...did the class do this for me?....Nooooooo
Weight Watchers did provide me with some tools to use that were helpful but that is NOT why I lost 6.2 lbs...
"Made to Crave" class gives me a LOT to think about but that is NOT why I lost 6.2 lbs...or maybe it is... ? .... "Made to Crave" showed me who I am through God's eyes...they gave me a genuine purpose beyond worldly rewards...
How many of us lose and gain and lose and gain the same 5, 10, 15, 20 or even more pounds on what seems to be a regular basis? Well, that is because when we lose the weight and we have that joy and victory over the lbs the joy and the victory are short lived and we fall back into the same habits. We feel like well look at me. Look at what I did. We are confident that we know what we are doing and so we go out and begin to get complacent and forget where we came from and we begin to fall back into the same eating habits.
That is Because we know "HOW" to lose the weight. We can go to Spark People and we can join Weight Watchers and we can read books and magazines and watch TV Programs like the Biggest Loser and we can educate ourselves about the "How To" lose weight by diet and exercise every minute of the day and still not have read or seen all the material out there in the world after a full year of reading and watching.
We are saturated with media telling us, we "Americans" are FAT (others in the world are too but we are the worst of them as a group). We are saturated with media telling us, How to eat and how not to eat.
LET'S FACE IT WE ALL KNOW "HOW TO" LOSE WEIGHT!
But do we "WANT TO" lose the weight....
Now you are all thinking, OF COURSE I DO and you are thinking DO YOU THINK I WOULD PUT MYSELF THROUGH ALL THIS IF I DIDN'T WANT TO?
BUT here is what I mean...
(Let me also say I am sorry if this offends some people; it is not meant to offend. This is so true for me that I am putting it out there because I feel that if this is true for me; it may be, and most likely is true for many, if not all of you as well...so forgive me in advance if this offends.)
Think about this DO YOU REALLY WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT "ENOUGH" TO CHANGE YOUR LIFE COMPLETELY! BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT IT IS GOING TO TAKE!
If the reward of losing the weight was not enough...
If the reward of fitting into a smaller pair of pants was not enough...
If the reward of the attention we get from the opposite sex was not enough...
If the rewards that we say are why we are doing this was enough then we would keep the weight off!
It is not enough to see a smaller number on a scale,
It is not enough to zip up a pair of smaller pants,
It is not enough to fit in a booth at a restaurant, or
to hear the whistle of men on a construction crew...It isn't...
We have to change ON THE INSIDE!
We think it is all about the outside but it is NOT....
All of those rewards are outwardly rewards. Our bodies are smaller so we get to put on smaller pants but have our hearts changed? When we look in the mirror we see a smaller person but do we like that person?
When the boys whistle, we smile back and feel good about ourselves for a second but on the inside are we saying, “If they met me, they wouldn’t like me really.”
If you want to lose weight AND KEEP IT OFF you have to do it because taking care of your body is just another part of taking care of ALL OF YOU…WHY? Because YOU ARE LOVED, because YOU ARE WORTH IT, because IT DOESN’T MATTER IF EVERYTHING YOU DO IS RIGHT OR IF YOU SCREW UP ON A DAILY BASIS BUT IT MATTERS THAT YOU TRIED…because GOD IS THERE FOR YOU.
You have got to CHANGE THE WAY YOU THINK ABOUT YOU BEFORE YOU CAN MAKE “ANY” LASTING CHANGES IN YOUR BODY…
If you don’t find your “WANT TO” you are just going through the motions of physical changes…
If you really “WANT TO” lose weight…and you leave a comment on this blog…please tell me what your “WANT TO” is so that others can see beyond a smaller pair of pants or looking good to the eyes of others like husbands and boyfriends…wives and girlfriends…and yes even the eyes of children…although I agree that these can be motivating factors at times but you must look inside yourself and find your own personalize “WANT TO”!
Do it because YOU ARE WORTH IT! TELL YOURSELF THERE WILL BE NO MORE SELF DEFEATING THOUGHTS! NO MORE NEGATIVITY! NO MORE DEGRATING YOURSELF! WHATEVER YOU ARE BEATING YOURSELF UP OVER, WHATEVER YOU ARE KILLING YOURSELF OVER, WHATEVER YOU ARE PUNISHING YOURSELF FOR… “STOP IT!”
You were Created for a purpose! You are important! You are loved! God knows EVERTHING you have ever done good or bad and If you ask for Him to forgive you He ABSOLUTELY WILL FORGIVE you. He will separate you as far from your sins (mistakes, little white lies, major fiascos, etc…) as the east is from the west … you will be washed as white as snow… you will be a CHILD OF THE KING OF KINGS … you will be a genuine PRINCESS OR PRINCE!
Start looking at yourself through the EYES OF GOD…because He loves you! He made to just the way you are! He gave you the personality that you have!
I didn’t lose weight because I joined WW because a lot of people are in WW and don’t lose a lb and walk away after a while…I didn’t lose weight because I am going to a “Made to Crave” class because many people have gone through the books and the classes and don’t lose weight…I lost weight because I “WANTED TO ENOUGH TO CHANGE MY LIFE FROM THE INSIDE” My body doesn’t matter to me anymore as far as I don’t care what anyone thinks of my body…I am losing weight because my body is the Temple of the Holy Spirit and I AM WORTH TREATING MY BODY WITH RESPECT! My Jesus lives in me and he doesn’t want to eat junk!

Please look inside and see if you can’t find you “WANT TO”
Keep your eyes upon Jesus and don't lose sight of him and you will stay on track when you see yourself through his eyes and not through a pant size.
