Day 5: Go to bed early

Monday, September 26, 2011

I did that last night. In general I'd like to get into bed by 11 PM or 11:30 at the latest. I typically need a while to read before I can fall asleep. I am not one of those people who can make a seamless transition from sleep to waking or waking to sleep.

Much of my life has been a struggle with insomnia but I'm doing better since I started Spark People. I think I have greater peace of mind and less food roiling around inside me and preventing me from embracing the soothing arms of Morpheus.

    That is something I really struggle with. I think I might make it my next goal: be in bed by 10 pm... although I think I've tried and failed before :(

    I am a night owl. Working on changing that. My goal is to put on warm pj's, drink a cup of tea, read a good book, and dream away the night.

    I hope we both have a sound sleep! {{Snore}}

    there is nothing like getting to bed earlier so that you can (hopefully) find sleep earlier and wake in the morning feeling more refreshed! I hope you're feeling fine today!

    I have to read, too--even if it's only a few sentences. And no, reading stuff on SparkPeople doesn't count!

    Two things that helped me recently are not doing anything but sleeping in bed and going to bed only once I am reeeeally tired. :-/
    I am getting "more" sleep this way, but not yet "enough" sleep.

    Good luck to both of us! emoticon

    Did you sleep well? I have to read before falling asleep, too. Sometimes I even fall asleep while reading. Exercise and eating healthy foods can have an impact on sleep. I hope you continue to feel better.
