Day 1 of Training.

I've committed again to fitness. Why? Because I'm going to run that 5k on December 10th, even though no one will come do it with me. I'm going to RUN! Weee! I have just over 11 weeks to train, and picked a 8 week training plan so that I can have a few weeks if I need to work on a week for a second time.
I did Day 1 of the 5k for Rookies training plan, and gotta say that jogging for a minute was harder than I expected, but so telling of how out of shape I am. I huffed and puffed my way through it, trying to breath correctly, but still not managing to do it too well as I bounced along. I also did this in the 85 degree heat, but thankfully the area I chose is well shaded by Oak trees in many spots. It wasn't horrible. Was very ready to come back when the 20 minutes was over, but spend another 18 minutes walking to the end of the street, then home for another mile. I sweated my rump off and felt good when I got inside and had a few big glasses of water to re hydrate. My bike shorts did their job as I have no chaffing. YAY!
Dylan wants to walk whenever he gets home from work, so out we go for at least another mile. Never going to tell him no when it comes to him finally coming to exercise with me. I do the cooking so he's forced (unless he wants to cook) to eat semi-healthy, but that's not too difficult for him as his mom was very health conscious and he can sit and eat a bell pepper like an apple.
Also, in other news, Gala apples have replaced Granny Smith as my favorite. So delicious.
