We can do this.

Thursday, September 22, 2011

There is a place that I go nearly every day. I have to cross a train track and stop at several stop lights. In the morning I noticed that even if I stop for a train and all the lights are red I keep going to get there. Even if I am early or late I keep going. Even if there is a detour I keep going. I sometimes realize when the traffic lights seem to be in my favor. Sometimes I just expect them to be in my favor and other times I am frustrated when they seem to be against me. But, whatever the case I keep going to the destination.

During life as we are on this journey to have a healthier, fit and thinner body we need to be more like we are going to a very important destination and keep going even when all the lights seem to be against us.

Making food choices in front of others. Making exercise choices on cold days. Getting the courage to go to a smaller clothing size or wear something a bit fitted. All these are important to the journey and we can continue even when the light seems to be RED.

Great blog! The RED light also reminds me I need to be patient... it is a journey not a mad dash.

    Love your moving forward thinking.

WALKINGGRANDMA had a wonderful idea about using the red lights for planning. Seeing opportunity instead of obstacle makes a difference.

Red lights are for planning. Sitting there frustrated that the light caught you is not productive. Using the time to think, ponder, and plan makes the next few hours/days much more productive.

Do a lot of thinking at red lights. It works well.
