Birthday Blog and Wildfire update

I don't know why but my brain decided it did not want to go to sleep last night. It might have had something to do with the fact that my low back pain has been hanging around for a while just to take my mind off of my neck pain. I just LOVE those thermacare heat wraps (Large, please) for my back. Today being my birthday I was compelled to go to the Olive Garden since that is just what we do when someone in the office has a birthday- we go to lunch! Then in the afternoon we have cake!! I did not wear my buffet pants on purpose. That way I had to feel my jeans tightening with every bite. It helped to keep my down to a very small piece of cake.
What's with the tradition of the birthday person having to cut their own cake?? I hate that! I cut cake for a living and it's not something I want to be reminded of on my birthday, especially with coworkers commenting on how bad of a job I'm doing and my new director saying "cut them smaller- we want to make sure everyone gets a piece!"

This ain't my first rodeo people!! I am an expert at guesstimating how to cut a cake based on how many people are at an event. It's a special skill I've honed over the years. I call it the "fishes and loaves skill". I've had many doubters but this skill has never failed me and I don't need new number crunching coworkers second guessing me on this. What a fun group they are!
Wildfire update- We can actually see and smell the smoke from the wildfires that are not anywhere near my town, which is freaky. Our governor McGoodhair asked the state to pray for rain and this is what we got. We've been on fire ever since. Maybe we should pray for some federal aid to help those impacted but of course this is the guy who sometimes toys with the notion of ceceding from the country since we used to a be a separate country (for a whole six years). It will be interesting to see how his opponents work that into their ads.
