Happiness--Day 2

Tuesday, September 06, 2011

The Constitution only guarantees the American people the right to pursue happiness. You have to catch it yourself. ~Author unknown, commonly attributed to Benjamin Franklin

Unfortunately, I forgot to set my alarm clock last night, so my plan to get up this morning to work out--well, it didn't pan out. There's always tomorrow!

But, I did make many healthy choices today. I drank my eight glasses of water (and am still drinking more). I left work today to take a lunch hour and visited social spots so I would feel more connected. When I went to the restroom, I did some stretches. I stayed within calorie range (although I'm a little). I snacked on raspberries. And because the clutter in my house is stressing me out, I made a point to clean tonite before bed.

But, most importantly, I am blogging and talking to all of my friends. I have been way too antisocial lately, hiding because I am embarrassed about my weight, my appearance--well the list goes on. I have also been avoiding people because my migraine medicines make me groggy, forgetful, and out of touch. Its embarrassing.

I also signed up for a 5K for this Saturday. I did a lot of walking over the weekend and it was difficult. Having the 5K so close is intimidating but it also gives me a quick goal and quick motivation.

I hope everyone had a wonderful day! G'nite!

Glad to see you again.. Be sure you're ready for that 5K and don't go in it unprepared and risk hurting yourself... Is it a run or walk?

I had something I was going to say and I forgot it... oh, ok, here's what it was. I left work on stress leave back in May and expect myself to be all better now... Anyway, I signed up for a part-time enumeration job, just had to go around and knock on doors and get people to confirm their voting information. Anyway, I never thought I wouldn't be able to do it... But, I just couldn't make myself.... So, finally, today I did call and quit. He was so understanding and still encouraging...I was so stressed over it and what a relief it was to be understood.... He just said, if you can't do it, then you can't!!!
