The Dilemma of the Dog!

Wednesday, August 31, 2011

Will I ever get a puppy??---
You see, we have always had 2 GSDOGS--
Last April, we had to put our lovely GSFemale Dog, down--Seizures--!!!
Since then, we have survived with Coal, the enormous male, GSDOG--
Having 1 dog is not bad--There are bonus'----like---- Our grass outside is gorgeous----
There are not as many droppings to pick up----maybe not as much fur floating around the house either---
Anyway, I had put 2 deposits ""down"" on 2 different litters-- hoping we would have another GSDOG this fall---
The one litter has not happened---the female did not get pregnant--The owner is quite vague as to when this might happen again---nor is she in any hurry to refund my healthy deposit--
The other deposit is held by a lady, who we just found out got kicked in the head by a horse last weekend---and-----she is not sure who the father is of her litter is--It could be half rottweiller--or --it could be a purebred GSDOG---- Oh man!!! How can so much go wrong eh?--And all we wanted was one puppy--one nice puppy ---with a sweet disposition--
So--this weekend we are going to visit the litter that could be made of 2 different species of dogs----
Maybe someone up there is trying to tell us something--???????--like 1 dog is good---
We LOVE animals--- We have a large property in the country--- We are OK bringing a new little one into our life----We just need to find the right one--or--- just, one--Hmmmmmm---- Maybe we should go ""small""--- I read of Sweedish Valhunds---They are a mini version of a Shepherd--- I know a breeder--
What to do--what to do-----?????
Right now, a gal must get going here--Son #2 the pilot is here with Grand daughter--
Busy----
Enjoy the day--Eat Healthy---

There is one big advantage if it's any kind of 'mix' - often the unhealthy traits (hip dysplasia, epilepsy / seizures, etc.) are recessive genes and are left behind when the dog is not a purebred. Myself, as much as I love boxers, I would definitely get a 'mutt' if we were in the market for a dog. Just personal viewpoint, y'unnerstan, lol...

I'd be looking for a refund if the dog is mixed breed, though for me, I do like mixed breeds . . . they just seem to be healthier. Anyway, if you pd. for a pure bred, that's what you're owed!

Strange that you should post about the dog today as yesterday I was thinking about asking how that was going. Wow - it is a dilemma. I know you want a dog so hang in there and go visit the dogs. I can't wait to see what you find out about the mix. I believe it will all work out and you will get a dog - the right dog for you.

Enjoy your Son and DGD too.

    Hugs, Sunny

good luck with the dog but if you are paying for a certain bread they need to give you just that not a mix or refund all your money
