Coffee with cream, good neighbors with pit bulls

I'm savoring my coffee, with cream, on my diet. I thought I'd have to give up caffeine once I made my lifestyle change. But God must have known the love affair I have with coffee and tea, I might add. And so, God loves me and wants me to have coffee with cream and STILL LOSE WEIGHT!
I haven't worked out yet, though I've tracked 60 minutes worth of cardio. I'm going to do it. I'm excited about doing it. I really am! But I haven't done it yet and here is why.
While savoring my coffee, the phone rings. It's Polly. Polly is my elderly neighbor who loves my kids. And we love Polly, too. But her dog, Boss, is the main reason our love affair even began. Boss is a beautiful pit bull with the shiniest coat you've ever seen. He's a smart dog, a fun dog, a gentle dog - even for a pit bull. So, any chance my kids get, they spend time with Polly and Boss. They knit, they bake, the read, do math, tell time...what's not to love? So, Polly is my reason...ehem, my excuse...my REASON for having not done my workout. She called to take the kids with her on a walk at the Commons. That means I have to stop my regular routine, get the kids ready to go with her and put my one year old to sleep (who would normally be distracted by my older kid's presence) before I can work out in peace.
Is peace even necessary for a workout? I just gotta have things my way, apparently.
