Doctors visit and weight

Friday, August 12, 2011

Yesterday I had my 2 month check-up and while my A1c is significantly lower my weight is not as good as I liked. Even though I had lost 5 pounds since my last weight check it is not what I weight just 1.5 weeks ago. I am so dissappointed in myself. According to her scale I had lost only 5 pounds in 2 months. Boo!

I am getting back on track (weddings and graduation done) and I am aiming for a lower weight AND A1c.

Progress, not perfection. Five pounds is awesome! Much better than gaining five pounds. My doctor fusses at me if I lose more than 2lbs a week. :) A significantly lower A1C is definitely something to brag about. Good job.

My last doctor's appointment was disappointing also - and served as a motivating force for me.
Let me know if you ever want to meet to walk. I've discovered that I CAN'T walk at Lake Anna because it's mostly concrete - my knee gave me problems for three days after that.

The really important part of all of this is that your A1C is lower. Your weight is lower, which is good, but the blood sugar thing is the true test of how you're doing. Congratulations on that! You should be proud of yourself!

If you are not using the nutrition tracker faithfully, get religion about it and do it! When eveything you eat is there in black and white you will have no questions. You will have the answers.
