Small Steps

This week I have been running in short increments 20 minutes at a time. I will do that two or three times a day. It feels good and I am getting my workouts in for sure.
I am also finding my legs and feet are less stressed. I just decided after my last half marathon to sort of start all over. My job is very demanding on my body so this seems to be working. I can actually run faster this way also which is nice for me.
I am signed up for another half and my goal for next year is to be a half maniac. I love that distance and since finishing one marathon I won't ever count it out again but my body never really ever recovered very well. It did but for some reason I have never felt right since then maybe it was just something in my life also I don't know.
I wont' ever count it out though as I do like to get out there amongst other racers and people who just enjoy that sort of thing.
These small steps just seem to boost my self confidence and let my legs heal, I can try out different times to walk in there and all kinds of things, speed, etc.
Just had to share that even small steps can make a BIG difference.

    way to go - I love the idea of short runs and I too had my issues when I finished my first half - but I found jeff galloway's plan and that works so well for me - run 3 minutes and walk 1 - it allowed me to finish my first and only full marathon this year! so now I do 5K's and perhaps a 1/2 at the end of the year - but that is it for me - I'm happy with shorter distances the training is much easier! so take care and good luck! you are a true inspiration
