And so another day draws near a close

Thursday, July 21, 2011

I am old now--and I hope I have changed. I am trying to aim at a balanced diet. In the past I was always striving for either 200 or 300 calories a day. Then I would crash and burn.

I have never tried moderation before in my life. Why eat a cup of ice-cream when you can finish up the pint? Or the quart? Or the half-gallon?

This is it--I'm old and my body is the repository of a lot of bad choices.

I'm afraid to flirt with extremes. If I eat too much I might have a heart attack! (This is serious--not melodrama!) If I eat too little, I could go into an extreme electrolyte imbalance.

So I've finally figured out how to post all my food intake here and I'm being honest. When I eat all the fiber, fruit, veggies, protein I need I end up with at least 1100 calories a day. Weight loss will be very slow but I hope that health will improve.

Good approach. Honesty may be deadly sometimes but it's always good to be honest with one's self, I think (not that I have always been). I got to your blog through the History Team. I'm excited to have found it, and hoping it will become a little more active (just a little).
